Isaiah 41:9 NLT
“Actions speak louder than words” we’ve heard it all our lives but do we really believe it’s true? Think about it for a minute in the light of our families. We say our families are at the top of our priority list… but are they really?
What do we spend our free time on? What do we make time for even when schedules are jammed? What are we willing to lay down the remote, the phone or the computer for? I believe the answer to those questions is also the answer to the question “What is most important in our lives?”
I want my actions to always reflect my priorities which is God, my spouse and then my kids. It saddens me to think that my actions have not always reflected this. As much as I hate to admit it sometimes I fail miserably at this.
I’m determined to simplify, to cut out things that are meaningless, things that steal the time that should be dedicated to those most important in my life.

Snow Week?!?!
Yes!! That’s right what looked like it could be a snow day or two has turned into an entire week snowed in.
With temps below zero and ice and snow covering everything in sight we are literally trapped in the house. No school, no work, no meetings, no busyness only family time, rest and relaxation and time to catch up on laundry and housework.
Who could ask for a better way to spend a cold winter week than to spend it with those we love the most?
Honestly… I don’t want it to end. I am loving it! It’s like an unplanned vacation.
So keep it coming Mr. Weather Man!!! I’m ready and waiting for more.

“Living for You” was a new one for our church today. Our youth band has been doing it for a while now and they really like it, so we decided to introduce it in the main service today. If you haven’t heard it check out the video below.
We had guest minister Buddy Bell in service with us today. Buddy preached an excellent sermon on “God uses candles as well as stars to light the world”. He talked about the importance of the ministry of helps and how it is just as important as any other ministry gift. He also brought out the fact that you don’t have to possess what man would call “star quality” for God to use you. He is no respecter of persons and desires to use those that man might consider too old, too young, out of date, and uncool.
