Today everything went smoothly. Our entire set was in the key of C so this made for easy transitions. We tried something new today, we had one of our band members who wasn’t scheduled to play, sit in the congregation with a headset on and communicate with the sound techs about mix and levels during worship. Our sound booth is in the balcony so it can be hard for them to tell what it sounds like on the lower level. Several people commented that the mix was great so apparently this proved effective.
Everyone & You, You are God ~ Both of these are staples for us.
You gave Your life away ~ This is a great worship song. The lyrics are very simple yet powerful. The congregation really seems to engage in this one.
O come let us adore ~ We went straight into this one from “You gave”. We left out the verses and did three of the choruses (O come, He alone is worthy, We’ll give You all the glory). I love this Christmas song because its one of the few that is very worshipful.
Offering Christmas Version ~ This is a very familiar song for us but it was the first time we’ve ever done the Christmas verse. I like this verse it’s unfortunate that it’s only done once a year.
