Sunday Set-list 1-25-09

Here is a picture of what our stage looked like before we started the remodel and a few pics of the progress so far.
We will eventually have one large screen that stretches all the way across the back wall, but it’s on 2 week back order so we have a temporary screen up in the mean time.
We had our annual Forward Conference this weekend. We Kicked off Friday Night of the Conference with a  guest band. They did an awesome job and it was really nice for our band as a whole to sit out and worship in the congregation.
Saturday Night Set-List ~ 1-24-2009
Saturday Night our band came in with new found energy. It was an amazing time of worship. I didn’t realize it until typing this out but we did all Hillsong in this set. We did a medley with the last 3 songs thanks for the idea Fred. It worked great! We went from “Mighty to Save” into the Pre-chorus of “The Stand” then to the Chorus of “The Stand” back to the Pre-chorus and then into the Bridge of “In Your Freedom” and back to the Chorus of “The Stand” to end.

  • Jesus Lives ~ B ~ Church of the Harvest
  • Because of Your love ~ G ~ Paul Baloche
  • Overcome ~ E ~New Life/Ross Parsley
  • We cry out ~ E ~ Church of the Harvest
Wow! Today was so much fun!! Everything went very smoothly aside from me forgetting an entire line in the verse of “Overcome”! I just stumbled through the line until the lyric came back to me. Normally I’d be kicking myself over it but it didn’t even matter. Worship was so incredible! He was glorified even though I made mistakes. Everyone was very engaged in worship, raised hands and voices singing out all throughout the congregation. I love days like this!! Overcome is probably the top song at our church right now. If you haven’t done it yet you should definitely consider it.

Due to our stage remodel we did a completely acoustic set this morning. Two acoustic guitars, bass and djembe. Worship was awesome today. Loved doing this acoustic set it had a very intimate feel. The songs were very familiar which meant that the band could really jump in and worship without thinking about getting the words right or getting the chords right. The congregation was totally engaged in worship. I could really hear them sing out today! Worship is such an awesome experience. I am so grateful that I get to do this!

Today was an awesome day!! Last week everyone just seemed tired and unresponsive, this week was totally different everyone seemed awake and ready to worship. There were moments when I would say 80% of the congregation was engaged in worship with hands and voices raised. I know that you can’t always go by outward expression. And that last week when there weren’t many visible displays of worship, their hearts could have been just as engaged in worship as they were this week. But it sure is awesome to look out across the congregation and see people worshiping God with all they’ve got.

Today was the first time we’ve ever done “Grace flows Down” it was definitely a keeper. The congregation really seemed to catch on fast! It’s an awesome song that really sticks in your head or I guess I should say heart! I’ve been singing it all day.

Today the band was on stage getting ready to kick service off when our drummer started throwing up and had to leave. Thank God he made it off stage and into the restroom and I am also thankful it all happened before we actually started playing! So we had our Lead Pastor who also happens to be a drummer fill in for us.

Other than our drummer getting sick everything went smoothly.

For some reason the congregation seemed disconnected today. I’m not sure if it was post holiday blah, cold weather or if everyone was just tired. It seemed that there were only a few who actually entered into worship :( .
