We had an awesome service today.  Worship went very smoothly. It was one of those days when everything just seems easy. Easy to sing, easy to play and easy for everyone to enter in to His presence.  I love a day like this! It’s such an awesome privilege to be able to worship God. There is absolutely nothing I’d rather do.

“You saw me” and “One like You” are two of my favorite worship songs to lead. If you haven’t heard “You saw me” you can check  out the Hillsong video below. I’ve included a link to Church of the Harvest’s myspace page you can check out “One like You” here.

We had Guest Speaker Comedian Elijah Tindall in service today he did an awesome job of combining comedy and the Word of God. I have included a clip of Elijah below.

This morning started out with a text message at 7:00am from our keyboardist letting me know that she was up all night with a crying baby and wouldn’t be at church. Around 8:00am I received a call from our sound-man who happens to be an on-call surgical nurse letting me know that he had gotten called in to surgery. Thank God we had someone on standby for sound just in case.  Fast forward 30 minutes  it’s now time to start rehearsal and our bass player is no where to be found. Found out this afternoon that he was sick and forgot to set his alarm. I moved the scheduled grand pianist to keys, called our other bass player during rehearsal and asked if he would sub, he agreed and everything was covered.

By the way things started out it looked like it could be one of those days when everything goes wrong. This was not the case at all.  Everything went very smoothly, no tech gremlins, no train wrecks not even a hiccup. We had great participation from the congregation in worship. At the end of worship our pastor came forward and asked if anyone needed prayer. In response to the call we had a guest come forward for salvation and few others to receive prayer for healing.

Pastor finished up the sermon series “Matters of the Heart” with a sermon on lust and then we had another person come forward for salvation at the end of the sermon.

Looking back at the end of the day, the morning chaos was really not so bad at all! We had a great time of worship, peoples lives were touched and two people received  salvation! Great day!

3/15/2009 Sunday Setlist

3/15/2009 Sunday Setlist

We had a small crowd due to spring break but it was a great day anyway! The song of the day was “I Exalt Thee” even though it may be an older song it was the song that really seemed to connect the congregation in worship.  I could really hear them singing out on this one. Looking back I think maybe we should have done it earlier in the set to get them connected before the last song, but God was exalted and that is our goal :) .

3-8-09 Sunday Setlist

3-8-09 Sunday Setlist

I started out my morning by watching the video below while getting ready for church. Although I’ve seen it several times, I cannot watch this video without being completely awestruck by His love.  The grace that He has extended to us is so great words cannot express the gratitude I feel. This was a great way to start the morning :)

We had an amazing time of worship today. It was one of those days when I could have kept worshiping all day.  Technically speaking everything went very smoothly but you know what…. today it wouldn’t even have mattered, everything could have went wrong and it still would have been an incredible time in His presence.

This recap is part of the “Sunday Setlists” blog carnival at FredMcKinnon.com.

We had one of our best rehearsals ever today.  Everything went smoothly, the band sounded great, transitions were seamless. I actually thought to myself  “wow, with a practice like that today is going to be great”.   I wish I could say that service went as well as practice. Ugg….

I messed things up royally.  We introduced  “You Deserve” today and during practice everything went fine.  When you come out of the verse and go in to the pre-chorus there’s an instrumental part that I skipped completely I went straight into the pre-chorus  while the band played it correctly with the instrumental.  Needless to say the result was a train wreck. I completely threw everyone off. But thanks to a great band we recovered and the rest of the song was great.  We will do this song again but next time I won’t skip the instrumental lol.

Thank God it’s not about us and we don’t have to be perfect to glorify God. Despite my obvious imperfection and stupid mistakes it was a great day! We had 3 people receive salvation today, thats what its all about.

If your not familiar with “You Deserve” check out the Hillsong video below.
